This performance exists in the space where technique meets connection. Rope and bamboo become living architecture, shaping the body in ways that are at once beautiful, rough, intimate, and precise. Every knot and transition forms part of a visceral dialogue—balancing pleasure and suffering, trust and surrender. Through bamboo suspensions and dynamic rope play, Kristie and Kindred showcase the possibilities of rope as both an art form and a deeply connective practice.

Kristie has been drawn to kink for as long as she can remember, with the last two years devoted to diving deep into the world of rope bondage. Her passion lies in the delicate balance between beauty and pain, connection and suffering. Through teaching at Friction Fiber Arts with Kindred, she discovered a love for bottoming education—focusing on communication, safety, and the transformative connection rope creates. Kristie has taught a variety of classes, from Scene Skills to Dynamic Suspension, and has shared her love of rope on stage alongside Kindred.
Kindred (@kindred.ties)
A queer rope switch tying since 2016, Kindred blends technical precision with fluidity and an intense focus on emotional connection. Their practice is inspired by martial arts, psychology, and art, drawing from multiple disciplines to inform both their teaching and their tying. As a rigger, they create rope that is simultaneously engineered and intimate, balancing precision with energy. As a teacher, they are non-dogmatic, adaptive, and trauma-informed, fostering a space where vulnerability and trust can thrive.
