CLASS DESCRIPTION
Friction and Flesh
Rope can be more than restraint—it can be a tool of seduction, uncovering fantasies and weaving them into your tying. Each movement becomes deliberate, sultry and undeniably sexy, inviting deeper connection and heightened erotic tension. This class–inspired by aibunawa or caressing rope, utilizes rope as conversation, as a caress, perhaps as desire itself.
This class encourages you to slow down, take the scenic route, and explore the often-overlooked places where the body comes alive. More than just where you place your hands or ropes, it’s about how you create anticipation: the threat of touch can be more powerful than touch itself.
Requirements
- It is recommended you take this class with a partner you are comfortable being erotic and vulnerable with. Some of the ties in this class involve crotch rope but can be altered if needed
- Shared understanding of each other’s boundaries
- Shared understanding of basic nerve and safety information for rope bondage
- Bring a blunt edged cutting tool
People tying:
- Know how to tie a stable single column tie
- Know how to tie half hitches
- 4+ ropes for the body
- Upline management skills are an asset
People being tied:
- Be able to communicate effectively to your tying partner under stress
- Have an understanding of painful vs dangerous rope
- Have a nerve checking system
INSTRUCTORS
@kindredties
Kindred is a queer rope switch who’s been practicing bondage since 2016. They enjoy both the technical and connective sides of rope, and attribute much of their growth with rope bondage to their teachers Barkas and Addie and their tying partners.
As a rigger, they combine technical precision, fluidity of movement, and focused observation to tie in a way that centers the emotional experience of the people in their rope. Drawing inspiration from martial arts, psychology and art, they incorporate knowledge from these and related fields into their lessons and practice.
As a teacher, Kindred is non-dogmatic and adaptive. Rather than adhering strictly to any style of tying, they provide students with the skills to pursue any avenues of curiosity. Their training in trauma informed practice and non violent crisis intervention carries through to their teaching and practice, facilitating an environment where people can feel safe to express vulnerabilities and emotions.

@KristieTheKitten
Kristie has been drawn to kink for as long as she can remember, and has been exploring and diving deep into rope bondage since early 2024. She is fascinated by the delicate balance between beauty and pain, connection and suffering. While teaching with Kindred, Kristie discovered a passion for bottoming education; emphasizing communication, safety, and the depth of connection that rope can create. She has taught a range of classes, from connection to dynamic suspension, and has shared her love of rope through performances alongside Kindred.
